Is your bathroom tired and outdated? Does it make you feel more stressed than relaxed? Does it simply not meet your needs? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, chances are you’re thinking about remodeling the space.
Despite the fact that renovating your bathroom is a wise decision, there are several things to consider. When it comes to remodeling, you have to decide whether to DIY or hire a professional.
No matter how many DIY projects you’ve done in the past and how many how-to videos you’ve watched, before you decide to tackle the job yourself, here’s a look at some of the top reasons why you should seriously consider hiring a professional Suffolk County remodeler.
Bathroom Remodels are Tricky
Despite the fact that you might be able to paint, hang wallpaper, or even replace a vanity on your own, there are certain aspects of a bathroom remodel that are very challenging. When renovating a bathroom, you’re likely going to replace plumbing and lighting fixtures, put in new tiles, upgrade the cabinetry, and more. If you don’t have the proper training, it can be pretty challenging to take on these projects on your own. Demolition is also needed, which can be a challenge for DIYers.
Professional Suffolk County remodelers will have a team of industry experts on hand to assist with your project, including electricians, plumbers, designers, tile installers, and carpenters. It is a guarantee that everything will be done correctly and according to your specifications when these professionals are on the job.
Less Stress
You can expect a lot of stress when remodeling a bathroom. It’s a labor-intensive process that requires a lot of time and effort. Your schedule is busy enough as it is; laying tile, hanging shower doors, and all of the other elements that are involved will take up whatever precious free time you do have. Plus, if anything goes wrong, you’re on the hook, which can add even more stress to the situation.
When you hire a professional remodeling company in Amityville, NY, you will be able to enjoy a stress-free remodel. The project won’t require too much of your time or effort, so you won’t have to worry about making mistakes. It will also take much less time to complete the project; what would take you hours to complete may take just a few minutes to complete by a contractor and his team. Within a few days, you can enjoy your newly renovated bathroom.
Affordability
Many Amityville homeowners believe they can save money by doing their own home improvement projects. A bathroom makeover is one of those projects that you may end up spending more on if you take the DIY route, even though that might be true for some projects.
If you hire a bathroom remodeler Amityville service, you will not have to buy or rent any tools, materials, or equipment. The knowledge and experience of a contractor will allow you to demolish and install your new bathroom properly, something that you might not be able to accomplish by yourself. You are responsible for anything that goes wrong, and fixing errors can be quite costly, so you may have to hire a professional anyway if something goes wrong. Hire an experienced Suffolk County contractor from the start to avoid unnecessary costs.
When you hire a professional contractor for your Amityville bathroom remodel, you’ll be able to take advantage of all the benefits mentioned above. Amityville is a village in the Town of Babylon in Suffolk County, on the South Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 9,523 at the 2010 census.
Huntington settlers first visited the Amityville area in 1653 due to its location to a source of salt hay for use as animal fodder. Chief Wyandanch granted the first deed to land in Amityville in 1658. The area was originally called Huntington West Neck South (it is on the Great South Bay and Suffolk County, New York border in the southwest corner of what once called Huntington South), but is now the Town of Babylon. According to village lore, the name was changed in 1846 when residents were working to establish its new post office. The meeting turned into bedlam and one participant was to exclaim, “What this meeting needs is some amity”. Another version says the name was first suggested by mill owner Samuel Ireland to name the town for his boat, the Amity.

The village was formally incorporated on March 3, 1894. In the early 1900s, Amityville was a popular tourist destination with large hotels on the bay and large homes. Annie Oakley was said to be a frequent guest of vaudevillian Fred Stone. Will Rogers had a home across Clocks Boulevard from Stone. Gangster Al Capone also had a house in the community. Congregants began holding meeting for St. Mary’s Church in 1886, building a Chapel in 1888 by Wesley Ketcham under Rev. To put it simply: For a gut bathroom renovation, the answer is usually yes.
Based on trends, the answer is roughly four to five years. Based on the lifetime of bathroom appliances, the answer is a little more difficult to gauge—maybe 15 to 20 years, depending on the quality of the bathtub and/or shower system.
A bathroom remodel can take anywhere from 3-4 weeks, but this answer largely depends on the size of the remodel.
