Things Are Falling Apart

Have your tiles cracked, chipped, or are some even missing? Does your toilet constantly run? How often do the faucets drip? Do you see crumbling grout? Anytime you answer ‘yes’ to any of these questions, it’s definitely time for a bathroom remodeling.

In addition to looking unsightly, falling apart bathrooms are also unsafe. In addition to the fact that using water unnecessarily is bad for the environment, someone can be injured by falling tiles while taking a shower or by an overflowing toilet. It is true that quick fixes may temporarily solve your problem, but they really only address part of the problem. The problem will eventually become bigger if you continue to bandage the problem when it needs a major repair. In addition, why risk harming yourself, others, or the environment? A bathroom remodeler Fishers Island can save you frustration and avoid potential harm by overhauling your Fishers Island bathroom.

High Humidity and Strange Odors

If your bathroom gets as hot as a sauna or it has a stale, musty odor, you’ve got a moisture problem. While upgrading the exhaust system could prove to be effective, if there’s a lingering odor, that’s a sign that high humidity levels have cause mold and mildew growth. These naturally occurring organisms can cause major destruction as they eat away at fibrous materials, such as the walls, flooring, and ceiling; they can also pose health risks. Depending on the amount of mold and mildew growth, a total bathroom overhaul is the only way to fix the issue and prevent further damage.

It Isn’t Functioning For Your Family’s Needs

Whether you just need a little more space or additional storage, the Bathroom is your solution. Some families have multiple people to take care of and finding the right layout is essential. This project was built to meet all of those needs. And don’t worry, your loved ones won’t bump into one another while they brush their teeth every morning anymore!

Your Utility Bills are Mysteriously High

Maybe you haven’t noticed, but your water and electric bills are rising each month. If that’s the case, then it’s possible that your bathroom is to blame. Faucets, toilets, or lighting systems not meeting current standards could be wasting a ton of your money. Your utility bill isn’t the only one suffering; so is the planet. By upgrading your bathroom, you can install energy-efficient fixtures while still having the aspect of reducing carbon footprints.

Fishers Island is an island located in Southold, New York at the eastern end of Long Island Sound, 2 miles (3 km) off the southeastern coast of Connecticut across Fishers Island Sound. Approximately 9 miles (14 km) long and 1 mile (1.6 km) wide, it is approximately 11 miles (18 km) from the tip of Long Island at Orient Point, 2 miles (3 km) each from Napatree Point at the southwestern tip of Rhode Island and Groton Long Point in Connecticut, and approximately 7 miles (11 km) southeast of New London, Connecticut. It is accessible from New London by plane and regular ferry service.

The island was called Munnawtawkit by the Pequot Natives. Adriaen Block, the first recorded European visitor, named it Vischer’s Island in 1614 after one of his companions. For the next 25 years, it remained a wilderness, visited occasionally by Dutch traders.

John Winthrop the Younger obtained a grant of Fisher’s Island in 1640 from the Massachusetts Bay Colony, “reserving the right of Connecticut if it should be decided to be theirs.” He simultaneously applied to the Connecticut General Court for a similar grant in order that there might be no flaw in his title. The title was given to him in the following words, which are copied from the records of a General Court held at Hartford, Connecticut, April 9, 1641:

Upon Mr. Winthrop’s motion to the court for Fisher’s Island, it is the mind of the court that so far as it hinders not the public good of the country, either for fortifying for defense, or setting up a trade for fishing or salt and such like, he shall have liberty to proceed therein.

Winthrop lived only one winter on the island. He was named governor of the Connecticut Colony 1657-58 and 1659-76, and he used the island to raise sheep for food and wool. He died in 1676 and his son Fitz-John installed a lessee farmer from England on the island named William Walworth. Walworth brought a system of cultivation that was continued on the island for nearly 200 years. He established farmland out of the heavily forested island. Walworth and his family vacated the island nine years later due to the threat of pirates. Fishers Island remained in the Winthrop family of Connecticut until 1863, when ownership passed to Robert R. Fox, and then to Edmund and Walton Ferguson, also of Connecticut.

FAQ

A bathroom remodel typically ranges roughly from $6,000 to $16,000 with a national average of $10,788.

To put it simply: For a gut bathroom renovation, the answer is usually yes.

Based on trends, the answer is roughly four to five years. Based on the lifetime of bathroom appliances, the answer is a little more difficult to gauge—maybe 15 to 20 years, depending on the quality of the bathtub and/or shower system.

A bathroom remodel can take anywhere from 3-4 weeks, but this answer largely depends on the size of the remodel.
