Is your bathroom tired and outdated? Does it make you feel more stressed than relaxed? Does it simply not meet your needs? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, chances are you’re thinking about remodeling the space.
Despite the fact that renovating your bathroom is a wise decision, there are several things to consider. When it comes to remodeling, you have to decide whether to DIY or hire a professional.
No matter how many DIY projects you’ve done in the past and how many how-to videos you’ve watched, before you decide to tackle the job yourself, here’s a look at some of the top reasons why you should seriously consider hiring a professional Suffolk County remodeler.
Bathroom Remodels are Tricky
Despite the fact that you might be able to paint, hang wallpaper, or even replace a vanity on your own, there are certain aspects of a bathroom remodel that are very challenging. When renovating a bathroom, you’re likely going to replace plumbing and lighting fixtures, put in new tiles, upgrade the cabinetry, and more. If you don’t have the proper training, it can be pretty challenging to take on these projects on your own. Demolition is also needed, which can be a challenge for DIYers.
Professional Suffolk County remodelers will have a team of industry experts on hand to assist with your project, including electricians, plumbers, designers, tile installers, and carpenters. It is a guarantee that everything will be done correctly and according to your specifications when these professionals are on the job.
You can expect a lot of stress when remodeling a bathroom. It’s a labor-intensive process that requires a lot of time and effort. Your schedule is busy enough as it is; laying tile, hanging shower doors, and all of the other elements that are involved will take up whatever precious free time you do have. Plus, if anything goes wrong, you’re on the hook, which can add even more stress to the situation.
When you hire a professional remodeling company in Oakdale, NY, you will be able to enjoy a stress-free remodel. The project won’t require too much of your time or effort, so you won’t have to worry about making mistakes. It will also take much less time to complete the project; what would take you hours to complete may take just a few minutes to complete by a contractor and his team. Within a few days, you can enjoy your newly renovated bathroom.
Many Oakdale homeowners believe they can save money by doing their own home improvement projects. A bathroom makeover is one of those projects that you may end up spending more on if you take the DIY route, even though that might be true for some projects.
If you hire a bathroom remodeler Oakdale service, you will not have to buy or rent any tools, materials, or equipment. The knowledge and experience of a contractor will allow you to demolish and install your new bathroom properly, something that you might not be able to accomplish by yourself. You are responsible for anything that goes wrong, and fixing errors can be quite costly, so you may have to hire a professional anyway if something goes wrong. Hire an experienced Suffolk County contractor from the start to avoid unnecessary costs.
When you hire a professional contractor for your Oakdale bathroom remodel, you’ll be able to take advantage of all the benefits mentioned above. Oakdale is a hamlet in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 7,974 at the 2010 census. Oakdale is in the Town of Islip. It has been home to Gilded Age mansions, the South Side Sportsmen’s Club, and the main campus of Dowling College. It is now home to Connetquot River State Park Preserve.
Oakdale was founded around two Native American trade routes, where Sunrise Highway and Montauk Highway currently lie. Oakdale was part of the royal land grant given to William Nicoll, who founded Islip Town in 1697. Local historian Charles P. Dickerson wrote in 1975 that Oakdale’s name appeared to come from a Nicoll descendant in the mid-19th century. The community includes: St. John’s Episcopal Church, built in 1765, is the third oldest church on Long Island.
The community originated with a tavern owned by Eliphalet (Liff) Snedecor in what is now Connetquot River State Park Preserve. Soon after its founding in 1820, Snedecor’s Tavern began drawing New York bluebloods and business barons who wined and dined in remote joy when they weren’t fishing and hunting nearby. “Liff’s food is as good as his creek”, a magazine writer declared in 1839 referring to the food and Connetquot River. The writer added: “and the two are only second to his mint juleps and champagne punch; whoever gainsays either fact deserves hanging without benefit of clergy.”
In 1866, as the railroad reached the area, Liff’s wealthy patrons formed the South Side Sportsmen’s Club, and soon the race was on to see who could create the most superb spread in the thick forests adjoining Great South Bay. The most prominent were built by William K. Vanderbilt, grandson of railroad magnate Cornelius Vanderbilt; Frederick G. Bourne, president of the Singer Sewing Machine Co., and Christopher Robert II, an eccentric heir to a sugar fortune. Meanwhile, William Bayard Cutting, a lawyer, financier and railroad man, built his estate next door in Great River, New York which had once been west Oakdale.Learn more about Oakdale.

To put it simply: For a gut bathroom renovation, the answer is usually yes.
Based on trends, the answer is roughly four to five years. Based on the lifetime of bathroom appliances, the answer is a little more difficult to gauge—maybe 15 to 20 years, depending on the quality of the bathtub and/or shower system.
A bathroom remodel can take anywhere from 3-4 weeks, but this answer largely depends on the size of the remodel.
