Is your bathroom tired and outdated? Does it make you feel more stressed than relaxed? Does it simply not meet your needs? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, chances are you’re thinking about remodeling the space.

Despite the fact that renovating your bathroom is a wise decision, there are several things to consider. When it comes to remodeling, you have to decide whether to DIY or hire a professional.

No matter how many DIY projects you’ve done in the past and how many how-to videos you’ve watched, before you decide to tackle the job yourself, here’s a look at some of the top reasons why you should seriously consider hiring a professional Nassau County remodeler.

Bathroom Remodels are Tricky

Despite the fact that you might be able to paint, hang wallpaper, or even replace a vanity on your own, there are certain aspects of a bathroom remodel that are very challenging. When renovating a bathroom, you’re likely going to replace plumbing and lighting fixtures, put in new tiles, upgrade the cabinetry, and more. If you don’t have the proper training, it can be pretty challenging to take on these projects on your own. Demolition is also needed, which can be a challenge for DIYers.

Professional Nassau County remodelers will have a team of industry experts on hand to assist with your project, including electricians, plumbers, designers, tile installers, and carpenters. It is a guarantee that everything will be done correctly and according to your specifications when these professionals are on the job.

Less Stress

You can expect a lot of stress when remodeling a bathroom. It’s a labor-intensive process that requires a lot of time and effort. Your schedule is busy enough as it is; laying tile, hanging shower doors, and all of the other elements that are involved will take up whatever precious free time you do have. Plus, if anything goes wrong, you’re on the hook, which can add even more stress to the situation.

When you hire a professional remodeling company in Point Lookout, NY, you will be able to enjoy a stress-free remodel. The project won’t require too much of your time or effort, so you won’t have to worry about making mistakes. It will also take much less time to complete the project; what would take you hours to complete may take just a few minutes to complete by a contractor and his team. Within a few days, you can enjoy your newly renovated bathroom.

Affordability

Many Point Lookout homeowners believe they can save money by doing their own home improvement projects. A bathroom makeover is one of those projects that you may end up spending more on if you take the DIY route, even though that might be true for some projects.

If you hire a bathroom remodeler Point Lookout service, you will not have to buy or rent any tools, materials, or equipment. The knowledge and experience of a contractor will allow you to demolish and install your new bathroom properly, something that you might not be able to accomplish by yourself. You are responsible for anything that goes wrong, and fixing errors can be quite costly, so you may have to hire a professional anyway if something goes wrong. Hire an experienced Nassau County contractor from the start to avoid unnecessary costs.

Point Lookout is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) located in the town of Hempstead in Nassau County, New York. The population was 1,219 at the time of the 2010 census. The town is mostly made up of residential homes, with several small businesses on Lido Boulevard. The town is surrounded on three sides by water. Today, Point Lookout has become a popular location for summer residences. Among its inhabitants, it is commonly referred to as “PLO”.

Point Lookout’s first known inhabitants were Merrick (Meroke) Native Americans, a tribe of the Algonquin people. The first European settlers in Point Lookout were Dutch, who arrived in the 1640s, followed by the English, in the 1660s.

The barrier beach on which Point Lookout sits has been, in one incarnation or another, there for hundreds, if not thousands of years. The first mention of Point Lookout begins to appear in the mid 19th century, as a location for whalers, and as a dangerous spot for ships. A U.S. Life Saving Station was established at Point Lookout in 1872; ironically, it was due to the tragic wreck of the U.S.S. Mexico on January 2, 1837 that a U.S. Life Saving Service was created; the service remained there until farmers grew salt hay on the marshes that stretch behind the site.

A series of hotel and seasonal bungalows was built, as was a seasonal railroad connecting Point Lookout to Long Beach, but nearly all these structures were destroyed over time by either winter storms or fire. During the summer months ferries from the Woodcleft Canal in Freeport brought hundreds of day-trippers to Point Lookout’s beaches, and for those who lived in Point Lookout, or in the small community to the east called Nassau By the Sea, the barrier island was a paradise.

FAQ

A bathroom remodel typically ranges roughly from $6,000 to $16,000 with a national average of $10,788.

To put it simply: For a gut bathroom renovation, the answer is usually yes.

Based on trends, the answer is roughly four to five years. Based on the lifetime of bathroom appliances, the answer is a little more difficult to gauge—maybe 15 to 20 years, depending on the quality of the bathtub and/or shower system.

A bathroom remodel can take anywhere from 3-4 weeks, but this answer largely depends on the size of the remodel.
